Oregon: Oregon Young Republicans Split

12/1/04

In response to the decline of membership involvement due to an ongoing administrative proliferation at the state level, the organization has split. Oregon Young Republicans, Inc. have built a new state organization to more accurately reflect the structure, philosophy and priorities of young conservatives in Oregon. We invite you to join us, and become involved again. Among the changes …

Streamlined leadership:

Our Board of Directors consists of three positions: President, Vice- President and Secretary, all limited to single-year terms.

A solid direction:

Your new state organization exists to facilitate activism. We will serve as a liaison between our volunteers and the campaigns that need them.

Events that matter:

The members of this club are the same ones who organized:
The primary night party
The 4th of July picnic
Food Drive and party for the Oregon Food Bank
Several counter-protests at the beginning of the Iraq war
The YR Dorchester party, 2003 and 2004
The Blue party at Dorchester
The ballot kick-off party with Lars Larson

A new hub for activism:

OregonYoungRepublicans.com now allows you to get involved without having to create a local county club. Volunteer opportunities, events and campaigns will be promoted through the site, and email alerts will keep you up-to-date.

We value your time:

Oregon Young Republicans will not waste your time. We will not weigh you down in elaborate administrative procedures, or expect you to attend marathon meetings of dubious purpose.
